Navigation Overview

SSP Manager operates at two distinct navigation levels: Group/Chain Level and Location Level. Understanding this structure is essential for accessing features and managing your restaurant operations effectively.

Two-Level Navigation Structure

SSP Manager organizes restaurants into Collections (Groups or Chains of restaurants) and individual Locations (specific restaurant sites). This allows restaurant owners to manage multiple locations from a single account while still configuring each location individually.

Single Restaurant vs Restaurant Group/Chain

When you sign up for a SSP POS Account via SSP Manager, you choose between:

Single Restaurant Setup

If you signed up as a single restaurant, you'll navigate directly to your Location Level after logging in. You won't see the Group/Chain level navigation.

What you'll see:

  • Direct access to your restaurant's Dashboard
  • All location-level features immediately available
  • No need to select a location first

Restaurant Group/Chain Setup

If you signed up as a restaurant group or chain, you'll use a Collection to manage multiple restaurants.

A Collection in SSP Manager represents a Group or Chain of restaurants. Think of it as:

  • Restaurant Group: Multiple restaurants under the same ownership (e.g., "Smith Family Restaurants")
  • Restaurant Chain: A brand with multiple locations (e.g., "Downtown Pizza" with 5 locations)

Collections allow you to:

  • Manage shared menus across all your restaurants
  • Handle billing and subscriptions centrally
  • Give employees access to multiple locations
  • View aggregate data across your restaurant group
For Single Restaurant Users

If you signed up as a single restaurant, you can skip the "Group/Chain Level" sections in this documentation. You'll work primarily at the Location Level. If you expand to multiple locations later, you can upgrade to a collection-based setup.

Group/Chain Level Navigation

When you're at the Group/Chain Level (URL: /collections/{id}/*), you have access to features that span across all your restaurant locations.

Tips for Navigation

Quick Access

Bookmark your most-used restaurant location URL for quick access: https://manager.ssppos.com/locations/{your-location-id}/dashboard

Stay in Location Context

Once you're in a location, most navigation links will keep you in that restaurant's context. Use the location switcher to change restaurants without going back to the group/chain view.

Reports Location

Reports are found on the Location Dashboard, not in Settings. Scroll down on the Dashboard page to find the Reports section.

Next Steps

Now that you understand the navigation structure:

  1. Create Your First Location
  2. Complete the Onboarding Process
  3. Set Up Your Team
